How Not to be Weary in Well Doing

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

Six keys to implement in our lives in order to establish our hearts and continue until we see deliverance.

Galatians 6:9 APNT:
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

James 5:7–8 APNT:
But you, my brothers, be long-suffering until the coming of the LORD, as the farmer who waits for the precious fruit of his ground and is long-suffering about it, until he receives the early and latter rain.
So also be long-suffering and establish your hearts, for the coming of our Lord draws close.

1. Pray, speak in tongues

Luke 18:1 APNT:
And he also spoke to them a parable that at all times they should pray and not be weary.

Romans 8:26 APNT:
So also, the Spirit aids our weakness, for we do not know what is right to pray for. But the Spirit prays on our behalf with groans that are not describable.

2. Washing

II Corinthians 4:16 APNT:
Because of this, we are not weary, for even if our outer man is corrupted, yet that which [is] inside is renewed day by day.

Titus 3:5 APNT:
not by works of justification that we did, but by his own mercies, he gave us life by the washing of the birth from above and by the renewing of the Holy Spirit,

3. Seek answer — know the deliverance is coming!

Luke 4:4 APNT:
Jesus answered and said to him, “It is written: MAN SHOULD NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE, BUT BY EVERY ANSWER OF GOD.”

4. Boast in infirmities

2 Corinthians 12:9 APNT:
And he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ will rest on me.

5. Rest and communion with God, stand on promises

Isaiah 40:28–31 NET:
28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is an eternal God, the creator of the whole earth. He does not get tired or weary; there is no limit to his wisdom. 29 He gives strength to those who are tired; to the ones who lack power, he gives renewed energy. 30 Even youths get tired and weary; even strong young men clumsily stumble. 31 But those who wait for the Lord’s help find renewed strength; they rise up as if they had eagles’ wings, they run without growing weary, they walk without getting tired.

Psalm 62:5–8 NET
5 Patiently wait for God alone, my soul! For he is the one who gives me hope. 6 He alone is my protector and deliverer. He is my refuge; I will not be shaken. 7 God delivers me and exalts me; God is my strong protector and my shelter. 8 Trust in him at all times, you people! Pour out your hearts before him. God is our shelter.

6. Find strength

Philippians 4:13 APNT:
I find strength for everything in Christ who strengthens me.
