Clothed with Power

We Have Spiritual Clothes

This record is before the ascension.

Luke 24:49 KJV:
And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued [clothed] with power from on high.

What is this “clothing?”

Galatians 3:27 KJV:
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on [are clothed with] Christ.

Romans 7:22 KJV:
For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

Christ in you is a complete man on the inside of your physical self. The inward man has spiritual senses like we have physical senses.

Ephesians 4:7 KJV:
But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

Ephesians 2:8–9 KJV:
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Ephesians 4:22–24 KJV:
That ye put off [strip off] concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

It’s great that we have Christ in us on the inside but now we are to put on Christ in our minds—and on the outside. What we have on the inside, we put on in our minds.

Romans 13:12–14 KJV:
12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. 13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. 14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

The armor of God is the Lord Jesus Christ. Everything that Christ is in you, is the armor that you have.

“Lord” means boss or master.

Philippians 2:9–11 KJV:
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

“Jesus” means savior or salvation. Yeshu in Aramaic, Yeshua in Hebrew.

Philippians 2:5–8 KJV:
5  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Everything about the name “Jesus” has to do with deliverance, redemption, forgiveness, and how he’s our complete savior in every way.

When you say Jesus, you mean deliverance. When you say Lord, you mean authority.

Christ, in Aramaic, is Meshikha. It comes from a verb that means “to anoint.” The verb “to anoint” also means “to measure.”

Ephesians 4:7 KJV:
But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ [the anointed one].

“Measure” and “Christ” both come from the same root word. The anointing is actually the full measure. The measure is the anointing. When you say you have Christ in you, then that is the full measure of the standing of Christ.

Ephesians 4:13 KJV:
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ [the anointed one]:

Put on the full measure. You have the faith of Christ, the love of Christ, the wisdom of Christ, all of it.

Acts 3:1–12, 16 KJV:
1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; 3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. 4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God: 10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. 11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.
12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

In Aramaic, it says, “His name, by the faith of His name, this man has been made strong.”

Colossians 3:10 KJV:
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

These spiritual clothes never get old, never wear out, and never need washing.

Colossians 1:27 KJV:
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you [plural], the hope of glory:
