When we are under pressure from health situations or from economic or even political situations, what do we do?

Proverbs 3:5, 6 ESV

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Trust (let go) Lean on…rely on (let go) acknowledge him (let go)

Let God: he will straighten your path…make it smooth, show you which way to go “which path to take” NLT

Also Psalm 37:23-24 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord…because he holds his hand.

Psalm 57:1-3 ESV

1 Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by.

2 I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.

3 He will send from heaven and save me; he will put to shame him who tramples on me. Selah God will send out his steadfast love and his faithfulness!

Let go Let God
Take refuge (trust) under his wings (shade of your presence)
Cry out He will fulfill his purpose for me (performs all things)
He will send and save me

He will put to shame (KJV) those who swallow me up

He will send his love and truth (faithfulness)

  1. Have compassion [mercy] on me, God, for my soul trusts [hopes] in you and in the shadow of your wings I will be concealed [hidden, sheltered, protected] uU

Psalm 37:1-9

1 Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers!

2 For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb.

3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.

4 Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.

6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.

7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!

8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.

9 For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait [qavah] for the LORD shall inherit the land.

Let go Let God
Do not be envious (stirred up) by evildoers They will be dried up
Have confidence in God, dwell in land You will find safe pasture, faithfully you will be fed
Delight yourself in Lord He will answer your prayers

NET — requests of your heart

Commit your way (roll everything on him)
He will act (on your behalf)

He will vindicate you in broad daylight, and publicly defend your just cause. (Ps. 37:6 NET)

Be still (silent) and wait patiently

Fret not

Refrain from anger

You will inherit the land

Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it. (Ps. 37:34 KJV)

for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy. (Ps. 63:7 ESV)

Psalm 91:1-4 ESV

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will cover you with his pinions (feathers), and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.

His faithful promises are your armor and protection. (Ps. 91:4 NLT)
