This is a section from an actual Aramaic Peshitta manuscript. The letters are written in Estrangelo script. That is the script that was used in the early centuries AD. All of the LWM Publications use a font that is fashioned after this script. Picture a scribe using a metal pen on vellum or parchment and that is the reason for the thicker and thinner shapes of the letters!
I have been studying this language for the last 40 years and at the time I began, there were not very many books available to study it. You had to pour over manuscripts like this and search through out-of-print dictionaries for the definitions to words. NOW there are many books to study Aramaic in print and the entire database that I worked on for many years is available for use. You can see inside the books at Amazon.com.
